This section provides a thorough introduction to Arctic marine waters. The first two topics in the side menu describe the physical characteristics of deep (Arctic Basin) and shallow (Continental Shelf) water settings. You can then learn about the major currents responsible for water movement in the Arctic, as well as three features (leads, polynyas, tides) that have important effects on Arctic life.
